Merger Flow Chart and Timetable
A Merger Proposal was completed and presented to both Sporting Club Committees in December 2012;
SVSC & SASC committees subsequently voted and both committes UNANIMOUSLY endorsed the merger proposal.
Activity post-Merger votge with SVSC & SASC Committees
On 23 January a power point presentation summarising the Merger Proposal was made to council members – “Council Briefing”.
Outcomes of “Council Briefing” & City of Swan Funding
Generally well received by councillors;
City Officers to present on April 17 a briefing session to Councillors on the viability of the Proposal from a finance, engineering, environmental perspective;
It is anticipated a final report (after council briefing) will be presented by the City Officers by Councillors to vote in April 2013;
A Majority 8 out of 15 councillors need to vote in favour to get the city to support the Merger Proposal which includes significant funding for new facilities.

The merger flowchart and timeline has changed since our last communicaton with members (refer new flowchart);
In anticipation of a positive outcome both clubs will be investigating voting, legal and licencing issues of merging both clubs.

The Swan Athletic Seniors group meet fortnightly on a Thursday afternoon 12noon until 3.30pm. Members can play bingo, carpet bowls or just sit and talk with friends.

Swan Athletic has a covered Bocce rink which operates most Mondays to Fridays from 3.30pm.
"One Punch is too Many"
The Swan Athletic Sporting Club supports The IF Foundation, formerly The Luke Adams Foundation and it's goal of reducing violent crime. The IF Foundation operates on the premise that community violence is preventable and tackling the issue is the responsibility of the whole community.
